Financial Planning Analyst

Responsibilities

The financial planning analyst will provide necessary support to the senior financial planning consultants. Primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Creation of various financial projections and analyses surrounding financial, tax and estate plans for mid to high net worth clients.
  • Investment advisory responsibilities including updating allocations and placing equity fund and fixed income orders through our broker/dealer platforms. The analyst would also be a member of the investment advisory committee and would have due diligence responsibilities associated with various aspects of fixed income and equity management.
  • Preparation of quarterly portfolio performance reports to clients. This entails managing client account statements and working with our portfolio management and reporting software. The analyst will also provide supporting analyses generating data incorporated into the performance reports. This work is heavily quantitative and excellent computer oriented skills are required.
  • Preparation support on client income tax returns and tax plans.

Training will be provided on all facets of work, thus no prior experience in these areas is required although prior experience will be viewed favorably. The analyst would be expected to take on increasing responsibility including direct client communication and contact regarding all aspects of the client relationship.

Requirements

An undergraduate degree is mandatory, preferably in accounting or finance, though other educational backgrounds will be considered. CFP® or CPA designation preferred, but not required. A wIllingness to pursue appropriate additional professional designations and education would be considered a positive. A strong desire to learn the personal financial planning and investment advisory business and eventually develop the capacity to directly consult with clients is required.
